This was originally posted at the old Goldmine community forum, but I thought it was worth a re-read.

 

Sometimes a contact will have an address change but you would like to keep a record of their old address in Goldmine.  This happens most often when you set someone up with an address as a prospect, but when they become a customer they use a new billing and/or shipping address.

 

 

So what is the trick?

 

 

Before you make the address change, create an additional contact and call it "Old Address".  Check the box to "Auto Fill with Primary Address" and choose OK.

 

Then change the address on the record.  You now have a place where the old address is stored if needed for reference purposes.
